Ruminant BioTech were founded out of a desire to solve the global methane emissions problem caused by ruminant animals. With methane emissions from livestock being one of the largest unaddressed sources of greenhouse gas emissions, and a major focus for governments and corporates worldwide, Ruminant BioTech developed a slow-release device, called a bolus, that sits in the cow’s stomach for up to six months and delivers high levels of methane knockdown over that time period. A well-planned, rigorous clinical research and product development programme is underway and is making excellent progress as Ruminant BioTech work towards commercialisation and international launch in 2025. By 2030, Ruminant BioTech aims to have 100 million cows around the world using their bolus, delivering a reduction of approximately 210 mega tons of methane emissions every year.
